Once again, the Canaries becomes the jazz capital of the world as it celebrates the 25th edition of the Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken. Leading jazz musicians from around the world are set to play 46 concerts in different venues on the 5 islands of the Canarian Archipelago.
For both national and international tourists alike, the Canary Islands are synonymous with summer, and with summer, jazz arrives in one of the world’s most well-known tourist destinations. The Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken returns for yet another year, for nothing more, and nothing less than its 25th edition of the international music event. Year after year, this unmissable date for jazz music lovers just keeps getting better and has now firmly established itself on the international jazz scene, making it an important fixture in the summer festival calendar.
This year there are 46 concerts happening on 5 islands (La Palma, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote), with some having already begun and the remainder continuing until July 24th. The program at the Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken this year is awash with activities and a star-studded line-up of artists to celebrate the 25th edition of the festival in grand style. Artists include the Brazilian, Hermeto Pascoal, a living legend on the jazz circuit and widely recognised for his fusion of jazz with the musical sounds emanating from Rio de Janeiro. Festivalgoers will also be able to enjoy Incógnito’s acid jazz project, Charles Lloyd New Quartet’s musical mastery, the sax and flute of the Flamenco jazz genius Jorge Pardo, and the amazing voice of the American, China Moses.
Alongside these and many other established artists, the public can enjoy performances from several artists who are beginning to make a name for themselves on the scene, and some local talent performing live for the first time in front of a large audience. The Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken has without a doubt contributed to changing the way the music of the Canaries is felt today. 377 bands and more than 3000 musicians have now delighted more than 1 million onlookers since the first edition of the festival back in 1992.
The plan is practically flawless: good music in an exceptional holiday setting. Now, all you need are a few recommendations from us to enjoy an unforgettable stay in the Canary Islands. Jorge Pardo, and Hermeto Pascoal Grupo (July 13th).
China Moses, and Charles Lloyd New Quartet (July 14th).
Carlos Mirayes Cuarteto and Ruthie Foster (July 15th).
Carme Canela and Banda Magda (July 16th).
Christian Scott (July 20th).

Luis Merino, Jon Clearly, and Patax (July 22nd).
Jazz Coming, Trouché, Jose Carlos Díaz Group, and Perinké Big Band (July 23rd).
Incógnito (July 24th).
Our second recommendation is the BlueBay Lanzarote*** hotel, a truly magical place on the magical island of Lanzarote, and the perfect base to enjoy the performances from Green Jeans, Jose James and Carolyn Wonderland on July 23rd.
You now have all the info you need; you have the islands, the music, the dates, and two excellent places to stay. In other words, a luxurious plan for this summer.
