Madrid for the little ones

In Madrid, fun is guaranteed for children. Parks, gardens, animal activities, theaters and museums for the youngest, children playgrounds, restaurants with special menus or children’s stores. No excuses, come to Madrid and bring the kids!

Animals from around the world, amusement parks, adventure, science and football stadiums with lots of history. Kids love visiting Madrid and parents too. We tell you how to organize a memorable family visit for a few days in the capital of Spain.

A visit in Madrid with children can start in the Madrid Zoo Aquariumd, located in the Parque de la Casa de Campo. Here live around 2,000 animals of over 500 varieties. The two panda babies Po and De De, the lion of the Atlas, the emperor scorpion, white rhinoceros or Nile crocodile are just some of the inhabitants of the zoo. Also in the Casa de Campo is the Amusement Park of Madrid, one of the most comprehensive urban leisure venues in Spain, with 48 attractions for all tastes and ages. The park is one of the pioneers in horror shows, with facilities such as the Walking Dead Experience, unique in Europe, and that reproduces different locations of the series, makeup and special effects.

Another amusement parks par excellence in the capital is located in the neighborhood of Valdebernardo. Faunia Nature Theme Park is divided into thirteen areas where visitors can learn all the details about the life of the various species that inhabit them: from the king penguins, to the tiger fish, to cranes, to European bobcats. And in the town of San Martin de la Vega, less than 30 kilometers from the center of Madrid, all the fun can be found in the Warner Park. Here you will be welcomed by the cartoon characters, along with attractions of vertigo and fun shows. Among its highlights, The adventure of Scooby-Doo, a haunted mansion in which you have to catch the ghosts that inhabit it.

For football-loving children, Madrid is one of the preferred destinations since they have the chance to visit the legendary stadiums of Santiago Bernabeu and Vicente Calderon, each home to a different museum: one devoted to Real Madrid and the other to Atletico Madrid.

Madrid is a city made especially for children, both in good and bad weather. In spring or summer, strollong through El Retiro and other parks and visiting the water parks are very desirable plans. While in the fall or winter, we can go and find out what hides inside some children’s museums, the Wax Museum, the Museum of Ratóncito Pérez, the National Museum of Natural Sciences and the Railroad Museum. You can also enjoy a newly opened Magic Forest, the children’s park of Kinepolis Madrid, where little ones can have fun sliding down numerous slides, hiding in endless mazes and climb giant plants.
