The BlueBay Banús Guide to the Marbella Area

The BlueBay Banús Guide to the Marbella Area
If you’re a fan of glitz and glamour Puerto Banús is for you. Known as the St Tropez of Spain this modern port, dating from the 1970s, is right at the heart of the Costa del Sol and just a short walk or 2 minute taxi ride from the BlueBay Banús Hotel. A playground of the rich and famous, Puerto Banús is crammed full of luxury boutiques, restaurants and bars. Head down to the marina and check out the vast array of super cars and yachts, and even take to the sea yourself on a privately chartered champagne cruise. For good dining, we recommend the best traditional italian cuisine, homemade pastas and pizzas in Aretusa or Carpaccio, in the first line. And if you want to try world cuisine and sip amazing cocktails…. the most popular place in Puerto Banus is Black & White!

If partying is your thing you will be spoilt for choice in Puerto Banús’ Marina during the summer months. Rub shoulders with celebrities at one of the infamous pool parties, and once the sun goes down head to bars and clubs hosting world-renowned DJs. Check out leading party organiser Sintillate’s party agenda to see what’s going on during your stay.
If you’re on a budget or looking for a slightly slower pace it makes sense to stray from Puerto Banús, where prices are often extremely high.

It’s certainly worth making the short trip to Marbella Old Town, which is worlds away from Puerto Banús, with narrow winding cobbled streets opening out on to ancient squares. You will find markets here nearly every day, as well as unique gift shops and boutiques – just remember that they will close for the daily siesta!

The lesser known town of Ronda, nestled in a dramatic landscape of mountains, is one of the oldest in Spain and has an excellent selection of restaurants and bars serving traditional Spanish dishes and tapas. Dine at the popular De Locos Tapas and enjoy friendly service and tapas described by some as the best in Spain!

Soak up the sun on one of the many excellent sandy beaches on the Costa del Sol, and swim with the family in shallow waters. Marbella’s Funny Beach offers a wealth of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including water sports, go-karting and trampolines.
