The hotel BelleVue Club and the town of Alcudia offer an October full of events and activities!
ALCUDIA FAIR
During the first weekend of October, we celebrate the Fira d’Alcúdia, cultural shows, handicrafts, agriculture, industry and trade of Mallorca. For three days, there are concerts as well as gastronomic and crafts shows, exhibits, horse shows… On Saturday, a procession will go through the streets of Alcudia holding the Estol del Rei en Jaume, a fantastic group of bigheaded characters representing the folklore of Mallorca. It is a unique opportunity to see them as they only come out once a year.
INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR CHESS TOURNAMENT
From Sunday October 14th begins the International Amateur Chess Tournament, a major chess event which will take place at the resort BelleVue Club. This international chess tournament for players under 2000 FIDE, has an attractive prize pool of over € 13,000 in cash.
Balearic players and those staying at the hotel, are asked to pay a 50 € registration fee until 5 October (after this date, they will be charged 25 €). In all other cases, registration is 100 € .
At the same time, there is a possibility to participate in the 15-hour intensive workshop for performance improvement, led by the FIDE Senior Trainer and FIDE Master Josep Suarez (entry fee 75 € ). More information and registration here.
V ANNIVERSARY OF VOCS MALLORCA
The owners of Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycles in Spain celebrate the V Anniversary of their Club, VOCS, in Hotel BelleVue Club. From Friday 12 to Sunday 14, there will be performances, a concert by “Stone Crow,” shows, games, gifts and many surprises. For registration and more information click on VOCS.
PESCADISCO CUP
Meanwhile, the beautiful white sandy beach of Alcudia will be hosting the “COPA PESCADISCO” frisbee Tournament which has been held for various years with over 120 players from around the world who stay at the hotel BelleVue Club. More information here.
TransMallorcaRun
And for those who want to live an epic adventure in a unique setting, we offer the TransMallorcaRun, an ultradistance race of 8 days and 7 stages that runs about 355 miles around the island of Mallorca, passing through the most amazing scenery you can imagine. On October 17, it covers 57.2 kilometers along the coast part of Alcudia. On the 18th , the second stage , covering 51.5 kilometers, takes off from the port of Alcudia to reach the town of Sóller.
THE DAY OF VIRGINS
20 October is the day of Verges (Virgins). The men will serenade the women. A group of town musicians will gather under the windows of the homes of young women to sing serenades requested by the ladies’ suitors, parents, godparents or friends. The girls, as a way of saying thank you, invite musicians to eat fritters and drink mistela (a sweet liqueur).
