Emulating the famous Fashion Week in Milan or New York, inspired by the Harvest Festival on the Avenue Montaigne in Paris, Marbella, internationally famous for its enviable climate, takes to the streets to celebrate this exclusive event which, from 5 to June 8, 2011, turned Puerto Banus into a show of light and color, changing in the architecture of the buildings and the docks, performances and shows, parades on the catwalk and VIP areas, with the elegance of its guests and the brilliance of its performances.
For another year in a row, Marbella Luxury Weekend shows to be full of original and unique activities, closely linked to the world of high fashion, jewelry and food:
On June 1 and 2,the Forum La Zagaleta: Brands and Trends (La Zagaleta: Marcas y Tendencias) will be held at the Palacio de Congresos de Marbella , which will include symposia, lectures, roundtables of executives from companies like L’Oreal, Skype, Starwood Hotels, UBS, Melia Hotels, KPMG, Tiffany or Inditex.
The two tents installed at the ends of the port will concentrate the most exclusive activities and events. The Pantalán 2 will host the Cars & Art Luxury Show, a spectacular exhibition of luxury vehicles and top-level competition sports cars coupled with the display of the “Gomez Collection,” an exhibition with 24 Porsche 911 GT2 bonnets made by artists. Ascari Race Resort will exhibit the current and the legendary racing cars, such as the F1 Ferrari from 1995 of which there are only 3 units in the world.
The restaurants: Black & White, Chateau Mona Lisa, Carpaccio and Aretusa will be offering champagne throughout everyday to all accredited for the MLW. Several tasting and samplings as the ham-cutting exhibition and tasting of Ibérico Puro ‘ Gran Reserva’ (D.O.P. Guijuelo); tasting and sampling of oils, pate and andalucian products, Brunch offered by Tiffany & Co or the fun way to enjoy sushi directly from the body of the model, during the so called “Body Sushi”.
The Artisan of Salvatore Ferragamo will prepare an iconic bag from the Italian firm, for which the customers will be able to choose color and skin type. It can be customized and will only be sold at the boutique in Puerto Banus on the occasion of MLW. In the afternoon, the designer Esteban Freiria will present his haute couture show Divina Danza at the Black & White restaurant, which will be accompanied by a strictly Black & White-style cocktail. The Luxury Night Pravda and Ascari will be held, where haute couture designer Florence Nahmad (former Valentino designer) will come together with the Ascari luxury cars.
Hotel BlueBay Banús, strategically located just metres away from Puerto Banus, will host a wide group of journalists of different nationalities who come to Marbella to cover the event of the year.
